He was born on Monday, February 5, 1923 in Elmore Co., AL, Son of the late George Gunter Whetstone and the late Ethel Stone Whetstone.

He was a Plumber.

Surviving are his Wife, Christine Whetstone; Daughter, Maryjo (Robert) Barbin; Son, Rick (Barbara) Whetstone; 4 Step Children, Lee (Donna) Mann, Kay (Richard) Botters, Joy (Rick) Thoennes, Vicki Hail; Grandchildren, Rick & John Hoover, Roxi Whetstone; 2 Great-Grandchildren, Heather Hoover, Phoenix Whetstone; Brother, Alex (Dean) Whetstone; 4 Sisters, Leo Harry, Reba (Robert) Kratzer, Ann Kilgo, Linda Brock.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Gunter & Ethel Whetstone; Brothers, Amos, Lynn & Roy Whetstone; Sister, Olive Harmon; Wives, Alene & Ruth Whetstone.

Friends will be received from 5-8, Thursday, June 16, 2011 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Friday, June 17, 2011, at 11:00 A.M. at Providence Baptist Church , Coosa Co., AL with Rev. William Short officiating.

Interment will follow in Providence Baptist Church, Coosa Co., AL, Rockford, AL.
