God blessed us with the life of Annie Merle Wallace Porter. Annie Merle was born to parents, Jasper and Dollie Mae Wallace, on July 10, 1941 in Bibb County and died on Sunday, March 25, 2018. As a young girl, Annie Merle moved with her family to Jemison where she lived the rest of her life. Annie Merle married George Thurman Porter in 1960 and celebrated 51 years of marriage together until his death in 2011. Other than her husband and parents, she was also preceded in death by her brothers, Ishmael Wallace and Allen Wallace, and her sister, Marie Collins. Annie Merle leaves behind her 4 children, Shelia (Wade) Ray, Pam Porter, Anthony (Kandye) Porter, and Cassandra (Bryan) Edge. She also leaves behind 6 grandchildren which were her greatest pride and joy in life: Blake Raines, Summer Raines, Trevor Porter, Kelsey Porter, Heath Edge and Allison Edge. Annie Merle also leaves behind a host of friends within the community and within her beloved church, Thompson Chapel Assembly of God. We are comforted and at peace knowing that our cherished mother and grandmother has entered into her forever home with her Lord and Savior and has been joyfully reunited with those that have gone before her. Visitation will be Monday, March 26, 2018 from 5-7pm at Martin Funeral Home. Graveside service will be Tuesday, March 27, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. at Midway Memorial Gardens, with Rev.
