Berniece S. Baker, 88, of Birmingham, AL passed away, December 23, 2011. Mrs. Baker, daughter of Mr. & Mrs. J.S. Sharp of Verbena, AL, ws born in Oxford, AL in 1923, but grew up in Chilton Co., AL. After attending Verbena High School, she married the late Willis H. Baker of Clanton, AL, in 1939. Mrs. Baker had lived in Birmingham since 1954 and was a long time member of Central Park Baptist Church. A devoted daughter, sister, wife, & mother, Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by her husband, Willis H. Baker, one son, Milton E. Baker, of Cahaba Heights, AL. and nine brothers & sisters. She is survived by a son, George W. Baker and his wife Oleeta, of Prattville, AL; daughter Sue Anne Baker Collier and her husband, Robert B. Collier of Birmingham, AL; daughter Gail Baker Walker, and her husband, Elliott M. Hill, of Marietta, GA; daughter-in-law, Donna Faye Sullivan Baker, of Cahaba Heights, AL. grandchildren, Joslyn Baker Hilliard, Leigh Ann Baker, Libby Baker Gardner, David Wesley, Robert Baker, Milton E. Baker, Jr., Rachel Baker, Sarah Walker Humphries, Robert B. Collier, III, Jonathan Collier, and Lucy Collier; and eleven great-grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters, Mrs. Jenny Mullins and her husband, Bill, of Millbrook, AL and Mrs. Betty Blackerby of Montgomery, AL. Friends will be received, Monday, December 26, 2011 from 10-11am at Martin Funeral Home Chapel, Clanton, AL.
