Geneva Lois Shelton Gentry, born December 6, 1930 in Killingsworth Cove, Madison County, Alabama. She married Winston H. Gentry on June 8, 1945. She was a devoted wife, mother, daughter, & Granny. Geneva was also a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church where she taught Sunday School for many years. Geneva loved her family and having them near her. She loved family camping & fishing trips. She was preceded in death by her mother Mattie Lou Morring Shelton, her father Joe Shelton and stepmother Thelma Shelton, her son Joe H. Gentry and daughter Elaine Gentry Headley. She is survived by her husband of almost 70 years Winston H. Gentry, daughters Shirley Emfinger of Jemison, Linda (Johnny) Cobb of Jemsion, Carol (Jimmy) Hance of Shelbyville, KY, Kelly (Bill) Goodman of Brandon, MS, daughter-in-law Sandra Gentry of Jemison and son-in-law Doug Headley. Geneva was wonderful "Granny Gentry" to 13 Grands, Rusty (Karen) Gentry, Byron (Heather) Gentry, Jamey (Amanda) Emfinger, Sharon Williams, Chase (Willona) Headley, Mandy Frye, Ashley (David) Spencer, Jonathan (Lyn) Cobb, Jennifer (James) Bordelon, Daniel Lawrence, Tanner Hance, Kayla Goodman, Casey Goodman. 21 Great-Grands, Justin, Jill, Jennifer, Dakota, Brooke, Shelby, Kelsey, Caitlyn, Kaley, Jayda, Katelyn, Ashlyn, Colby, Clay, Addison, Colton, Kallen, Kenzie & Cadence, Alyssa & Mason. Friends will be received, Monday, May 25, 2015 from 5-8pm at Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held, Tuesday, May 26, 2015 at Oak Grove Baptist Church, Jemison, AL., at 11:00 A.M. with Rev. David Hand and Rev. David Swafford officiating. Interment will follow in the Midway Memorial Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home directing.
