They owned and operated the pharmacy until their retirement more than 30 years later. After retirement, the couple spent the remainder of their 62 years of married life learning to fly airplanes; build, live aboard and sail their 44 foot steel sailboat, where they traveled to Cuba, Puerto Rico, Florida Keys and the Dominican Republic. The couple also trained Red Tail hawks and took care of their farm and animals in Coopers, Alabama. Moore was born in Andalusia, Alabama on March 3, 1930, the son of the late A. A. and Fannie Moore. After graduating he joined the United States Army where he was a radio operator during the Korean Conflict. He was an Auburn graduate and “War Eagle” football fan, a husband, father, grandfather, brother, sailor and inventor. He died Monday August 30, 2021 at North Baldwin Infirmary, Bay Minette, Alabama. Surviving relatives include his daughter, Cynthia (Richard) Ford of LaPine; his son, Henry E. (Audrea) Moore, Jr. of Verbena; three grandsons, Evan Ford of LaPine, Hunter Moore of Mobile and Alden Moore of Verbena; and two sisters, Annie Champa of Georgia and Betty Magnusen of New York.
