Johnnie Mack Taylor, 81, of Ocean Springs, Mississippi passed away June 5, 2020 at We Care Hospice Facility in Moss Point, Mississippi. Johnnie was born February 8, 1939 in Clanton, Alabama, and is the son of the late James Marion Taylor and Lillah Heflin Taylor. He attended Auburn University, and was a Home Builder his entire working career. He loved the beach and was instrumental in helping develop areas in Santa Rosa Beach, Florida. Johnnie loved building and reconstructing homes to help people in need. After hurricane Katrina, he rebuilt many of the homes destroyed in the hurricane. He enjoyed volunteering at the Seashore Mission Homeless Day Center in Ocean Springs. He loved all Gospel music, and The Inspirations had a very special place in his heart. Most of all, he loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Daddy, ‘Papa Johnnie,’ is dearly loved and will be deeply missed. He is survived by his daughter Debbie (Forrest) Foshee of Mt. Pleasant, South Carolina. Son, Hal (Jessica) Taylor of Montgomery, AL Grandchildren, Lauren (Zach) Martin, Addie (Drew) Wagner, John Harris Taylor, Lizzy Lynn Taylor. Niece Kitty Taylor, nephew, Cole Marion Taylor and his wife Janet. Greatgrandchildren, Mary Margaret Wagner, Levi Wagner, and Ruby Wagner. He was preceded in death by his Parents, James Marion Taylor and Lillah Heflin Taylor of Clanton. Brother, James H. Taylor of Grayton Beach, Florida. A very heartfelt thank you to the doctors and staff at Singing River Hospital in Ocean Springs as well as the nurses and staff at We Care Hospice Facility in Moss Point for their loving care for our father. A Private Family service will be held at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. John Will Wyatt officiating. Family requests no flowers. Please make a donation to your favorite charity.
