Mary Alice McGee, 80, of Maplesville, Alabama passed away June 9, 2024, at Hatley Health Care in Clanton, Alabama.
She was born January 14, 1944, in Alabama, daughter of the late Charles Preston McGee and the late Thelma Scott McGee.
Mary Alice brought joy to all those she encountered throughout her life. Mary’s Joy was a full body expression that allowed those around her to experience it more fully! Her favorite TV shows that she loved to watch were Hee Haw and Lawrence Welk. She is best known for belting out a tune to “Jesus Loves Me” and “You Are My Sunshine”! There were many days you would hear her humming and singing along to her radio. Mary also had an ability to remember names. It was impressive and she didn’t miss a beat on reminding you of something you said. There were no secrets with Mary; she would tell it all. One of her familiar quotes after telling something that was not to be shared was, “It’s okay ain’t it?” Mary loved her nieces and nephews and enjoyed always being around them. Their favorite game to play with her was “Red Rover, Red Rover, send Mary right Over”! There are many stories and memories that her family will cherish for the rest of their lives. Mary was truly a Blessing from God, and we are so grateful and thankful she was a part of this community.
John 3:16 reads: “For God so loved this world: He gave His one and only son so that everyone who believes in Him will not perish but have eternal life.” Mary Alice McGee BELIEVED! (Rest in Peace)
