Mildred Mcgee Corey

April 3, 1931 — October 7, 2020

"I will lift up my eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help. My help cometh from the Lord!" Psalm 121:1-2 She died at home and was surrounded by her family after battling this past year with cancer at the age of 89. She was born in Maplesville, but resided in Ramer, Alabama. She graduated from Maplesville High School and attended Montevallo College where she studied Home Economics and Art. Throughout her life, she always had the gift of serving and giving back to her community. She had a love for entertaining and cooking and shared that with others up unto 6 months before entering the gates of heaven. She loved flower arranging and had the musical gift of playing the piano and shared that talent many times throughout her life. Quilt-making was also one of her many talents and she lovingly made them for her children and grandchildren. Ephesians 4:32 "And be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving one another, just as God also forgave you in Christ." She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. John Marcus Corey of Monroeville, Alabama. Preceded in death by 2 brothers, Kenneth McGee and Charles McGee. Preceded in death by 2 sons, James Michael Alexander and George Preston Alexander. She has 1 sister, Mary Alice McGee of Clanton and a brother, Roy McGee (Ruby) of Navarre, FL She has 4 children, Jamie Alexander of New Orleans, Martha Alexander Sikes (Stan) of Ramer, Maria Alexander of Ramer, Johnny Alexander of Greenville, and 2 step children, Temple May and Johnny Corey. She has 6 grandchildren, Jason Alexander (Stacey) of Birmingham, Preston Alexander of Tuscaloosa, Brittany Sikes Seat (Jamin) of Sharpsburg, GA, Joshua (Jordan) Ramer, Alexandra Sikes of Wetumpka and Catherine Sikes of Wetumpka. She also has 5 great grandchildren, Cooper, Maggie, Walt, Amos and JonRoss. She also has an abundance of beloved nieces and nephews. Graveside services to be held Monday, October 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Greenlawn Memorial Gardens. Martin Funeral Home directing.
