Milton Charles Lovelady
1/15/1950- 11/21/2023

Milton Charles Lovelady passed away in his sleep at his Lake Martin home on November 21, 2023, at the age of 73. He was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He will be deeply missed and fondly remembered for loving well, working hard, and sharing generously.

Milton was born on January 15, 1950, in Maplesville, AL, and grew up on a beef cattle farm in Randolph, AL. He was a hard-working, talented young man and graduated as the valedictorian of Bibb County High School in 1968. Milton went on to earn undergraduate and graduate degrees from Samford University, The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary, and Auburn University at Montgomery. He spent most of his professional career working in management and computer programming, most recently at the City of Montgomery.

Milton loved his family and leaves a lasting legacy of tireless service to them and others. He loved being outside - hunting, fishing, driving the boat on Lake Martin, playing golf, gardening, and traveling. He loved helping people and especially enjoyed sharing his homegrown heirloom tomatoes with friends and neighbors. Perhaps most of all, he loved and delighted in his role as “Poppa”. The pride and love he had for his grandchildren was only matched by the time and energy he enjoyed investing in them.

Most importantly, Milton loved and trusted the Lord. We rejoice that his faith has been made sight and that he is now with God in heaven. Even in our grief, we have great hope knowing that those who trust in Jesus for salvation will one day join him there.

He is survived by his Wife, Wanda L. Lovelady; Daughter, Susan (Warren) Beason; Son, Adam (Tracy) Lovelady; Step-Daughter, Allison (Doug Becker) Kirkpatrick; Step-son, Dan Kirkpatrick; 9 Grandchildren, Robert Beason, Jack Beason, Camille Beason, Carter Lovelady, Ben Lovelady, Andrew Lovelady, Ian Becker, Miles Kirkpatrick and Jay Kirkpatrick; Brother, Butch (Sharon) Lovelady.

Milton was preceded in death by his parents, Myrtle and Ralph Lovelady.
