Steve Forrester Miller, born March 2nd, 1961 in Lakeland, Florida, passed on December 1st, 2021 as a resident of Jemison, Alabama. He is survived by His Wife, Jamey Miller; Mother/Father in-law, Terry and Larry Underwood; Daughter and Wife, Jennifer and Priscilla Martinez; Grandsons, Austin and Trevor; Son, Steven Miller; Granddaughters, Bailey and Chandler. Steve's career started in the United States Army, where he served stateside as well as Korea as a Tactical Wire Operations Specialist attached to the 80th Field Artillery Regiment. Following his active duty service, Steve ventured his way into tree trimming and shortly after, found his true calling in life; Linework. For nearly 35 years he served many people across the country as a Journeyman Union Lineman. It didn't matter if he was 40 feet up a wood pole on a set of hooks or 150 feet up a steel structure... if he was on the right of way, he was doing what he loved. Steve was strong, living, walking proof of what the true meaning of a Lineman is, and loved to show it. Aside from his career, his family was everything to him. From bailing his son out on a few occasions, to driving hours upon hours through the ice and snow to ensure his daughter and her family were safely moved to Alabama, to never giving up that chase of the woman of his dreams and asking her hand in marriage. He was so loving, caring and full of stories. He touched everyone he came across and never met a stranger. As many know, he was the kind of man that would give you his last dollar, the shirt off of his back and only want your friendship in return. He made many promises, and would always do his best to fulfill them regardless of how long it took. He loved his Harleys and all of the friends and family he made riding. He always joked saying, "When I pass away, y'all might as well haul me to the junk yard because I'm worth more in scrap than anything else with all of my screws, pins, plates, stints and hips." He always tried to shed light on any bad situation with his unique sense of humor. Nothing could stop him. If he wanted a beer, he was getting one... even if it meant crutching his crippled tail several blocks through the snow to the bar right after having hip replacement surgery. Bringing this to a close, Steve made something very clear to his family recently, and that was in his words... "When it becomes my time to go, I don't want everyone sobbing and boohooing over me being gone. Stop the crying, pop a cold one, take a shot, and laugh at the good times." You will truly be missed by so many and will forever be loved, and always remembered. This place will never be the same without you... And although your life is finished here, your new one has began as soon as you rode your bike through those pearly gates. Martin Funeral Home directing.
