Wanda L. Wilkins

Services to celebrate the life of Mrs. Wanda L. Wilkins, 85, of Thorsby, will be conducted by Martin Funeral Home and held on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. in the funeral home chapel. Rev. Michael Goode will officiate the service and burial will follow at Mt. Carmel Baptist Church #1. The family will receive friends for visitation one hour prior to the service on Tuesday.

Preceding Wanda in death are her mother and father, Lurla Mae Sammons Ellison and Thomas Jefferson Ellison; son, James Gregory Almaroad (Jay); granddaughter, Gwendolyn Boozer Shepard; sisters, Jean Almaroad and Vernell Ellison; brothers, Pete Ellison, Jerry Ellison, Wilbur Ellison, Kenneth Ellison, and Sammy Ray Ellison.

Wanda leaves behind her loving husband Gene S. Wilkins; her beloved children including daughters Renita Boozer, Michaele Mulkey (Johnny), Greta Smith (Johnny); stepsons, Bryan Wilkins (Kim), Carey Wilkins, and Drew Wilkins; her adored grandchildren Zachary (Kristen) Boozer, Wil (Nikki) Mulkey, Jamie (Chris) Buss, Jessica (Daniel) Jones, Katie Smith, Michelle (Riley) Brown, Josh Smith, Ryder Wilkins, Kayleigh Rose Wilkins, and Caleb Wilkins. Wanda also leaves behind many beautiful great grandchildren.

Wanda was a faithful Christian and a member of the First Baptist Church of Lomax. She was a devoted wife and loving mother and grandmother. Wanda was cherished by her family and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She enjoyed traveling the countryside and was passionate about collecting antiques including primitive furnishings, rustic early American décor and art. She will be missed by all.

Pallbearers are Drew Wilkins, Wil Mulkey, Zachary Boozer, Josh Smith, Caleb Wilkins, and Ryder Wilkins.
