William Owen Drinkard

William (Coach Bill) Owen Drinkard, 83, of Clanton, Alabama passed away May 9, 2025, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.


He was born April 6, 1942, in Alabama, son of  the late Gwen Owen Drinkard  and Dorothy Nell Lovelady.


He was a graduate of Livingston University with a Bachelor Degree in Physical Education with a minor in Biology. He retired from Haleyville High School as a teacher and coach. After retirement he taught and coached at several private schools. He was the cornerstone of the family. He touched many lives through his involvement in teaching and coaching.


Surviving are his Wife, Nancy Drinkard, Daughter, Stacey Lynn (Bill) Easterling, Grandson, Timothy Grant (Kristen) Henderson, Granddaughter, Taylor Brooke (Troy) Harrison, Great-Granddaughter, Blakely Reese Hicks, Great-Granddaughter, Wrenley Nicole Henderson, Future Great-Grandson, Owen Henderson, Sister, Dottie Kyle (Kenny) Rogers.


He was preceded in death by his Father, Gwen Owen Drinkard, Mother, Dorothy Nell Lovelady.


Graveside services will be held Monday, May 12, 2025, at 12:00 p.m. at Macedonia Baptist Church Cemetery, Maplesville, Alabama with Rev. Wes Kelly officiating.


In Lieu of Flowers please make donations to the Clanton First Methodist Church.
