Alma Jean Burt 79, of Maplesville, Alabama passed away peacefully at home on June 5, 2022.
She was born October 30, 1942 in Stanton, Alabama, to the late Marlin “Bill” Hathcock and Thelma Mae Hathcock. Jean was the youngest daughter of 5 children and grew up in and around the Maplesville area and remained in her Stanton home until her passing.
Jean attended Maplesville High School and went on to work in many different fields. She spent a lot of her working years as a seamstress in various sewing factories. Jean married Felix Burt and was very much involved with family. Her love of animals was recognized early on and she spent many, many years rescuing and raising wild animals, squirrels were her favorite. People from miles away would bring her animals that they had found. After Felix’s retirement, they spent many years running a paper route and meeting new people and furry friends all along the way. She also enjoyed their time traveling in their RV and spending time with friends and family. Jean was a caregiver of family and friends alike, providing care for her mother for years and the astounding care she gave Felix for many years. Most of all, FAMILY meant the most to Jean - her and Felix’s brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews, her children and her grand kids and most recently her great grandkids.
