Rev. Alvin M. Porter, 80, of Jemison died Sunday, November 17, 2013. He was born on Monday, July 17, 1933 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Albert Porter and the late Mildred Keith Porter. He was a Minister. Surviving are his Wife, Mrs. Hal Faye Porter of Jemison, AL; Son, Mr. Alvin Wayne Porter of Birmingham, AL. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Albert & Mildred Porter. Thanks to Pam Price and Southern Care Hospice for all their support. He was a minister for 42 years at nine different churches. Friends will be received from 5-8, Monday, November 18, 2013 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, November 19, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist with Rev. Charles Christmas and Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
