Andrew Nathan Mims, 80, of Clanton died Thursday, August 22, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Wednesday, June 14, 1933 in Chilton County, AL, Son of the late Andrew Nathan Mims and the late Nora Connell. He retired from The Montgomery Advertiser. Surviving are Son, Paul Nathan Mims of Clanton, AL; Daughter, Donna Mims of Huntsville, AL; Grandchild, Angela Mims Rizzo of Huntsville, AL; Great-Grandchildren, Shelby Lee Mims of Huntsville, AL, and Bailey Michelle Mims of Huntsville, AL; Sisters, Ruth Kate Parr of Clanton, AL, and Nancy Jones of Jemison, AL; Brother, Kenneth Mims of Clanton, AL. He was preceded in death by his Wife, Doreen Mims. Friends will be received from 1:00-2:00 p.m. Saturday at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, August 24, 2013, at 2:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home with Rev. Randal Mims officiating. Interment will follow in Refuge Baptist Cemetery.
