Arthur C. "A. C." Oaks, 74, of Jemison died Sunday, January 6, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Saturday, July 30, 1938 in Jefferson Co., Alabama, Son of the late Lonnie Oaks and the late Evelyn Rutherford Oaks. He was a Assistant Manager in Retail Sales. Surviving are Wife, Peggy A. Oaks of Jemison, AL; 2 Sons, Arthur C. (Dorothy) Oaks, Jr. of Jonesboro, GA, Joseph Ray Oaks of Columbiana, AL; Daughter, SFC, Patricia Ann Richards of Montgomery, AL; 5 Grandchildren, 4 Great Grandchildren, 3 Great Great Grandchildren; 2 Brothers, Allen Oaks of Pensacola, FL, Kenneth Oaks of Calera, AL; Sister, Martha Bullard of Pell City, AL. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lonnie & Evelyn Oaks and son, Rev. Sammy Oaks. Friends will be received from 5-8, Tuesday, January 8, 2012 at Jemison First Baptist Church. Services will be held Wednesday, January 9, 2013, at 2:00 pm. at Jemison First Baptist Church with Rev. Rex Kent and Rev. Bobby Hopper officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
