Benjaman Attaway Smith, 74, of Jemison, Alabama passed away peacefully in the arms of his loving wife of 53 years, while surrounded by the family on April 16, 2025, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center in Alabaster, Alabama.
He was born on July 23, 1950, in Clanton, Alabama, and was the son of the late James Lonzie and Bessie Mae Smith.
He was a Carpenter. He was a devoted husband of 53 years to his beautiful bride, Mary Ann. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He had a great love for anything outdoors and was a wood artisan.
Surviving are his Wife, Mary Ann Smith; Son, Benjaman (Veronica) Smith; Daughter, Melissa Ashley; Son, Jonathan (Kendra) Smith; Grandson, Tyler (Sommer) Smith; Granddaughter, Melony (Alex) Smith; Grandsons, Cade (Sarah) Ashley, William Ashley, and Ethan Smith; Great-Granddaughters, Aubrey Smith, Marilyn Smith, and Carlee Smith; Sisters, Edna Johns, Hilda Howell, Rebecca Crowson, and Mary Jarvis; Brother, James (Faye Beth) Smith; and a host of nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Parents, James Lonzie Smith and Bessie Mae Smith; Sister, Peggy Sue Hatter.
Friends will be received on Monday, April 21, 2025 from 11:00 A.M to 12:00 P.M at Martin Funeral Home in the Chapel .
Services will be held on Monday, April 21, 2025 at 12:00 P.M at Martin Funeral Home in the Chapel.
Interment will follow in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens in Maplesville, Alabama.
