Surviving are his Wife, Willie Matthews of Clanton, AL; Daughter, Delia "DeeDee" Abernathy (Linus) Yelk of Hoover, AL; Son, Benton Kyle (Carolyn) Matthews of Clanton, AL; Grandchildren, Ethan Abernathy, ViviAnn Abernathy, Eli Abernathy; Step-Grandchildren, David Yelk, Aaron Yelk, Seren Yelk; Step-Daughter, Tina (Bobby) Martin of Clanton, AL; Step-Grandchildren, Jason (Teresa) Martin, Eric (Erica West) Martin, Shane Minor, Ashley Minor; Sister, Viola (David) Vaughn, GA. He was preceded in death by his Step-Son, Marty Minor. Friends will be received from 6-8, Friday, October 17, 2014 at Martin Funeral Home.
