Berring Andrew Gwin, 77, of Jemison died Saturday, September 7, 2013 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Thursday, August 13, 1936 in Birmingham, AL, Son of the late Berring Arizona Gwin and the late Louise Sims Gwin Shattuck. He was retired after 27 years with the United States Dept. of Defense, 25 years with the United States Postal Service. Surviving are Wife, Mavis Langston Gwin of Jemison, AL; Son, Brian Andrew (Rita) Gwin of Jemison, AL; Grandson, Jerame Ray Smith of Jemison, AL; Brothers, Robert Arizona (Sheryl) Gwin of Tulsa, OK, Alvin Earl Gwin of Norfolk, VA; Sister, Mary Alice (Murray) Shackelford of Lake Placid, FL; Half-brother, Randy (Ann) Shattuck, Phillip (Joyce) Shattuck; Half-sister, Betty Shattuck (Larry) Green; Aunts, Mary Gwin (Richard) Marlow, Helga (Jack) Gwin; Sister-in-law, Margaret Sue Langston Underwood. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Berring Arizona & Louise Gwin Shattuck, Brother, Donald Richard(Delores)Gwin, Step-father, Matt Shattuck, Step-mother, Estelle Watkins Gwin, Step-sisters, Bertie Watkins Uptain,Elizabeth Watkins Williams, Margie Watkins Byram, Jewell Watkins Cobb and Many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins. Friends will be received from 2-3, Tuesday, September 10, 2013 @ Mars Hill Baptist Church. Services will be held Tuesday, September 10, 2013, at 3:00 P.M. at Mars Hill Baptist Church with Rev.
