Billy Joe Mims, 77, of Clanton died Sunday, May 22, 2016 at his residence. He was born on Tuesday, August 23, 1938 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late George Payton Mims and the late Fannie B. Moates Mims. He was a Welder. Surviving are his Wife, Barbara L. Mims of Clanton, AL; Daughter, LaShonda (Jim) McGregor of Chelsea, AL; Grandchildren, Matthew, Kaitlyn, & J.T. McGregor; Brothers, Jimmy "Shorty" (Emily) Mims, Curtis Paul (Kim) Mims, Johnny W. (Linda) Mims, Richard P. Mims; Sister, Jean (Randall) Edwards; Host of Nieces, Nephews, Great-Nieces & Great-Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, George Payton & Fannie B. Mims. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Thursday, May 26, 2016 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Thursday, May 26, 2016, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Robert Griffin & Rev.
