Billy Royce Smith

Billy Royce Smith passed away Tuesday evening, May 3rd 2016 suddenly and peacefully at his home in the Liberty Hill Community outside of Clanton. Billy was born January 2nd, 1938 in Chilton County, the son of the late Royce and Jewell Smith. His wife, Molly, preceded him in death in 2003 after 46 years of marriage. He worked for Alabama Power for 42 years, the vast majority of that in Clanton where he retired as lead lineman in 1998. He is survived by a sister, Betty Littlejohn of Opelika, AL, two sons, Greg and his wife Suzanne Smith of Powderly, TX, David Smith of Isabella and Sherry Smith of Clanton. Four grandchildren are Jared Smith of Powderly, TX, Nathan Smith of Midland, TX, Lauren Honey (Josh) of Pottsboro, TX, and Nicole Sullivan (Michael) of Prattville, AL. Friends will be received from 1-2, Friday, May 6, 2016 @ Liberty Hill Baptist Church. Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2016, at 2:00 P.M. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Dodson officiating. Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cem., Clanton, Alabama. In Lieu of flowers, please make memorials to Liberty Hill Baptist Church Cemetery Fund, 5800 Co.
