Billy Wayne Smitherman

Billy Wayne Smitherman, 72, of Clanton, Alabama passed away January 12, 2023, at his residence in Clanton, Alabama.

He was born July 30, 1950 in Alabama, son of the late Bill Smitherman and the late Clara Johnson Smitherman.

He was a former auto mechanic & avid fisherman. He accepted salvation through Jesus Christ in 1978. He was a deacon of his church and he loved Alabama football. He served the lord in his own way and made sure his family knew about a relationship with Christ. Finally, he loved his family with all of his heart and did everything in his power to provide for them.

Surviving are his Wife, Patsy Dian Smitherman; Daughter, Kelly Smitherman; Son, Jereme (Leanne) Smitherman; Grandchildren, Zachary Smitherman, Shawn Anello (Dallas), Abigail (Jonathan) Lucas and Natalie Smitherman; Step-Grandchildren, Johnathon (Lexie) Dopson, Ethan Dopson, Samantha (Kane) Estes, Trace Anello and Anna (Dustin) Easterling; Step Great-Grandchildren, Gunner, Riley and Houston Easterling, Lily and Zander Lucas and Noa and Noa and River Estes; Sister, Evelyn Bice.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Bill Smitherman; Mother, Clara Mae Johnson; Brother, Elize Smitherman.

Friends will be received Sunday, January 15, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at New Covenant Baptist Church.

Services will be held Sunday, January 15, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at New Covenant Baptist Church with Rev. Jack Jones and Shawn Anello officiating.

Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena, Alabama.
