Bobbie J. Payne

April 14, 1938 — November 28, 2022

Bobbie J. Payne, 84, of Montevallo, passed away Monday morning, November 28, 2022 at home.

Bobbie was always a kind and compassionate woman. That is until you got her really mad, then you’d better run. A graduate from Bessemer State Tech. School before attending First Real Estate, Birmingham, Alabama where she received her Real Estate License. Bobbie worked for most of her life, retiring at 76 years old. Before retiring she really enjoyed the manufacturing business, where she spent the bulk of her years. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. One of her greatest memories is spending time with her granddaughter and grandson. She’d get down in the dirt, play under the water hose, go on long walks picking flowers, going to the park and spending the whole day. She had three other loves in her life and that was her dogs. They weren’t dogs to her. They were like her children and were treated as such. If I had to choose her passion In life it would be her flowers. She could make an empty yard look like the botanicals in one season.

Bobbie is preceded in death by her Husband, Richard H. Payne, Father, Robert “Bob” Smitherman. Mother, Ola Pauline Dennis Smitherman, Granddaughter, Rachel Dawn Reach. Nephew Junior Limbaugh.

Surviving are, her Daughter, Kathy Blackmon Herzog (Kenny), Son, Robert Lynn Blackmon, Daughter, Kelly Payne Stewart, Daughter, Keela Payne Pierce (Mike), Karen Payne Kambon (Camara). Sister, Susan Limbaugh, Grandson, Andy Polk (Christy),Krissy Pierce, Michael Kane Pierce, Kimberly Pierce, Kristen Gannon, Michael Alan Stewart, Reilly Blackmon, Blaire Blackmon, Brooke Jones, and Brett Lunsford. And a host of Great-Grandchildren.
