Bobby Wayne Short

Bobby Wayne Short, of Prattville, Alabama, passed away August 29, 2021 at the age of 76. Bobby is survived by his children, Terry Short, Vickey Maddox, Regina Kay Short, and Bobby Short and his siblings Willie Grace Burton, J. D. Short, William (Cindy) Short, Debbie (Keith) Sikes, and Janet (Tommy) Seales. He is also survived by his long-time spouse, Patricia Whitmore, as well as his step-children Marina Campbell, Tasha Lopez, Stephanie Deramus, and Charles Mann. Bobby will be missed by his 15 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a host of other family and friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Elbert Short, and mother, Willie Margaret (Roper) Short. Bobby was born November 3, 1944 in Clanton, Alabama. He attended the Alabama Institute for Deaf and Blind. Bobby worked for many years at Pig Headley’s Food Center in Clanton. The son of a farmer, Bobby enjoyed the outdoors, and especially loved flowers and gardening. He had a great sense of humor, and loved his family immensely. A celebration of life will be held Saturday, October 2, 2021, at 11:00 a.m. at Hillcrest Baptist Church with Rev. Billy Wyatt officiating. Martin Funeral Home directing.
