Brenda Gail “Cleckler” Hucks, 76, of Clanton, Alabama, passed away on April 4, 2026, at Banner Hospital, surrounded by family. Brenda was born on October 25, 1949, in Clanton, Alabama, to the late Milton H. Cleckler and Evelyn Mims Cleckler.
A woman known for her unwavering work ethic, discipline, and devotion to her family, Brenda built a life marked by dedication and quiet strength. She spent many years in retail management, where her leadership and commitment to excellence earned her the honor of Manager of the Year for the Factory Connections retail chain. Her home reflected that same standard of excellence-kept so spotless that her family often joked you could eat off her floors at any time, day or night.
Brenda’s greatest joy was her family. She is survived by her husband, Jack Hucks; Sister, Janice Thompson; her children, Russell (Lourdes) Hucks and Regina (Craig) Stroud; her grandchildren, Joshua Hucks, Roman Hucks, Trinity Stroud, and Grace Stroud; and her great-grandchildren, Kamden Hucks, Raegan Hucks, and Ryland Hucks. She was preceded in death by her parents; her son, Robbie Hucks; and her granddaughter, Ella Stroud.
Brenda was a long-time member of Mt. Bether Baptist Church, where she worshiped faithfully and formed lasting friendships. She lived her faith through steadfast responsibility, loyalty, and countless sacrifices she made for those she loved. Her family will forever remember her as a woman who always put others first, often giving of herself quietly and without hesitation.
Brenda leaves behind a legacy of strength, devotion, and perseverance-one that will continue through the generations who loved her and were shaped by her example.
The viewing will be on April 14 at Mt. Bethel Church from 5 to 8 PM. The funeral service will take place at Mt. Bethel on April 15, starting at 11:00 AM.
