Byron James Cummings, 94, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away November 1, 2023, at Cedar Ridge in Clanton, Alabama.

He was born April 25, 1929, in Alabama, son of the late Vernon Cummings and the late Beatrice Cummings.

He was a Steel Worker.

Surviving are his Daughters, Debbie (John) Harper, Brenda Patterson, Linda (James) Hull; Sons, Jimmy (Judy) Cummings, Darryl (Karen) Cummings, Steve (Sherry) Cummings; Grandsons, Jarrod (Angie) Harper, Anthony (Wendy) Smitherman, Jay (Diedra) Smitherman, Derrek (Kristi) Smitherman, Landon Cummings, Tyler Morgan, Cody (Whitley) Cummings, Cameron Cummings, Carson Cummings; Granddaughters, Jody Harper Varden, Julie (Joe) Harper Martin; Numerous Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great- Great-Grandchildren; Sister, Myra (Henry) Moore; A host of other family; Caretakers, Ramonda Sitz, Patricia Crosswy.

He was preceded in death by his Wife and Mother of his 6 children, Evelyn Irene Davis Cummings; Father, Vernon Cummings; Mother, Beatrice Cummings; Brothers, William Hiram Cummings, Floyd Cummings.

Friends will be received Wednesday, November 8, 2023, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Wednesday, November 8, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Jeff Carroll officiating.

Interment will follow in Cedar Grove Methodist Cemetery, Thorsby, Alabama.
