Byron Edsel Hughes, Jr.

Byron Edsel Hughes, 80, of Rockford, Alabama passed away August 7, 2022 at his residence in Rockford, Alabama.

He was born July 21, 1942 in Alabama, son of the late Byron Hughes and the late Pauline Hughes.

He was an Ag Construction Teacher for 25 years and he also ran Barrett's Fish Camp for over 35 years. Mr. Hughes was an active deacon at Providence Baptist Church for many years. He was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather and Great-Grandfather.

Surviving is his loving wife of 62 years, Dorothy Guy Ward Hughes; Son, Darren Hughes; Daughter, Ursula (Jeremy) Allen; Grandson, Cameron (Brittany) Taylor; Granddaughter, Ashley (Jacob Beilstein) Taylor; Grandson, Koby Allen; Great-Granddaughter, Everleigh Grace Taylor; Sister, Janice (Lauf) Hendon; A host of other family.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Byron Edsel Hughes, Sr.; Mother, Pauline Hilyer Hughes; Brother, JB Hughes.

Friends will be received Wednesday, August 10, 2022 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Coosa County.

Services will be held Wednesday, August 10, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. at Providence Baptist Church in Coosa County with Rev. Jeff Hardy, Rev. Paul Shaw, George Gardin officiating.

Interment will follow in Ward Family Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to Providence Baptist Church.
