Houston Carl McDowell, Jr., 67, of Clanton died Thursday, August 15, 2019 at his residence. He was born on Wednesday, April 30, 1952 in Jefferson Co., AL, Son of the late Houston Carl McDowell, Sr. and Mary Virginia Bice McDowell. He was a retired real estate appraiser who ran the family business McDowell Appraiser with his late father Carl McDowell, Sr. Carl graduated from Chilton County High School and Auburn University. He was a proud member of the Auburn University marching band. Carl was an active member of Clanton First United Methodist Church. Surviving are Mother, Mary Virginia McDowell; Stepdaughter, Jordan (Brent) Cleckler; Stepson, Curt Roberts; Cousins, Mike (Kris) Collins, Kitty Collins. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Sykes McDowell, Father, Carl McDowell, Sr.. Friends will be received from 1-2, Sunday, August 18, 2018 @ Martin Funeral Home.
