Carrie Mae Woods GRAY, 86, of Clanton died Tuesday, February 8, 2011 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. She was born on Tuesday, January 20, 1925 in Walker Co., Alabama, Daughter of the late Benjamin Nathan Lewis and the late Myrtle Butler Lewis. She was a retired nurse. She was the first Nurse Practitioner in Chilton County and was a volunteer for mental health. Surviving are 3 Daughters, Margaret Burgess of Clanton, AL, Andrea (Ray) West of Clanton, AL, Amy (Russell) Pignataro of Clanton, AL; 3 Sisters, Jill (Don) Potts of Birmingham, AL, Edna Humphries of Helena, AL, Nadine Varner of Jasper, AL; 2 Brothers, Charles (Cookie) Lewis of Pinson, AL, Roy Lewis of Rustin, LA; 8 Grandchildren, 7 Great Grandchildren. Friends will be received from 5-8, Friday, February 11. 2011 at Martin Chapel. Services will be held Saturday, February 12, 2011, at 2:00 pm. at First Baptist Church with Rev. Jay Hurd officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama. Family request NO Flowers. Please make memorials to The Lighthouse Church Music Ministry or the Kara Lockhart Missionary Fund.
