He was born on Thursday, July 20, 1933 in Chilton Co., AL, Son of the late Joseph Lester Mims and the late Ruby Mae Jones. He was an Airplane Mechanic. Surviving are his Wife, Faye Mims of Thorsby, AL; Son, David (Cindy) Mims of Thorsby, AL; 2 Daughters, Kathy (Phillip) Davenport of Clanton, AL, Debra (Chuck) Waters of Thorsby, AL; Grandchildren, Dr. Matthew (Rachel) Mims, Melissa (Jerry) Hagood; 4 Step-Grandchildren, 10 Great-Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. Friends will be received from 10-11 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Saturday, May 31, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Chapel with Rev. Marc Hodges officiating. Interment will follow in Thorsby Memorial Cemetery, Thorsby, Alabama.
