Charles Nelson Martin

Charles (PawPaw) Nelson Martin, 68, of Jones, Alabama passed away June 19, 2025, at Shelby Baptist Medical Center.

He was born December 1, 1956, in Brooksville, Florida, son of the late Charles Martin and the late Vivian Chandler.

He was a Retired Master Sergeant with the United States Air Force as a jet engine mechanic. He was a Deacon at Poplar Springs Baptist Church and a member of the Chilton Baptist Builders. He was an avid outdoorsman

and a farmer who provided for his family and neighbors.

Surviving are his Wife of 47 years, Deborah Martin; Daughter, Cindy (Tripp) Stollenwerck; Son, Charlie Martin; Granddaughters, Bonnie (Andrew) Dudley, Kaitlynn Stollenwerck, Lexie Rice, Savannah McKinney, Lelah Martin,  Baileigh Stollenwerck, Carleigh Stollenwerck; Grandson, Landon Rice; Great-Granddaughters, Emberly Dudley, Ezra Dudley; Great-Grandson, Azekial Dudley; Many Honorary Grandchildren, Nieces, Nephews, and lifelong friend Jerry Nelson; Brothers, Allen (Mary) Martin, Raymond Martin.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Charles Wilbur Martin; Mother, Vivian Chandler; and Sister, Ophelia Batten.

Friends will be received Sunday, June 22, 2025, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Funeral service will be held Monday, June 23, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jason Ledbetter, Rev. Johnny Jones, and Tommy Bishop officiating.

Interment will follow in Alpine Baptist Cemetery, Plantersville, Alabama with Full Military Honors.
