Charles Lytle Russell

Charles Lytle Russell, 82, of Verbena, Alabama passed away on December 26, 2024, at Grandview Medical Center in Birmingham, Alabama.

He was born on November 13, 1942, in Florida, and was the son of the late Claude Russell and the late Fay Russell.

He served his country faithfully for 21 years in the United States Air Force, where he retired as a Senior Master Sargent. Following his service in the military he was employed Southern Company for over 12 years, from where he retired.

Surviving are his Wife, Barbara Felder Russell; Daughters, Terresa Lyn (Randy) Gunn and Catriona Leann McBrayer; Step-Son, Bryan (Katie) Bulmer; Granddaughters, Bobbie (Chris) Cessna, Randi (Nolan) Connell, Kayla McBrayer, Hannah Bulmer and Ava Bulmer; Grandson, Daniel (Danielle) McBrayer; Great-Granddaughter, Eliza Connell; Great-Grandsons, Michael Connell and Luke McBrayer; Brother and Sisters; and a host of nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Parents, Claude Henry Russell and Fay Lugrettia Russell; and Brother, Danny Russell.

Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 31, 2024, from 10:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Verbena Methodist Church in Verbena, Alabama with Rev. Jody Hill officiating.

Graveside Military Honors will be held on Thursday, January 2, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at the Alabama National Cemetery, in Montevallo, Alabama.

Interment will follow in the Alabama National Cemetery, Montevallo, Alabama.
