Charles Frank Ward

Charles Frank Ward, 73, of Rockford died Sunday, January 29, 2012 at UAB, Birmingham. He was born on Tuesday, January 10, 1939 in Richville, AL, Son of the late Boyce Ward and the late Mary Guy Ward. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He retired from Avondale Mills, Coosa Plant as electrician after 35 years. He served on the Coosa County Board of Education from 1984 to present. He was a deacon at Providence Baptist Church for 38 years. He loved spending time with family, fishing and working with his cattle on the farm. Surviving are his Wife of 42 years, Sheila Hilyer Ward of Rockford, AL; 3 Daughters, Leslie Ward of Richville, AL, Beverly (Keith) Hay of Richville, AL, Charlene (Tres) Nickolson of Kellyton, AL; Grandchildren, Bailey Shaneyfelt, Jacob Byrd, Olivia Hay, Jimmy Reed Nickolson IV, Chaz Nickolson, Eden Hope Nickolson; 5 Brothers, Julius (Peggy) Ward, Gary (June) Ward, Larry (Darleene) Ward, Bobby Ward, Terry Ward; 4 Sisters, Betty (Doug) Hitson, Dot (Edsel) Hughes, Ellen Thornton, Patricia (Bill) Hardy; Numerous Nieces & Nephews. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Boyce & Mary Ward; Brother, Gerald Ward and Granddaughter, Elizabeth Byrd. Friends will be received from 5-8, Tuesday, January 31, 2012 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Wednesday, February 1, 2012, at 1:00 P.M. at Providence Baptist Church , Coosa Co., AL.with Bro. Jeff Hardy, Bro. Paul Shaw, Bro. Mark Seals and Bro. Williams Short officiating.
