Charolette Evonne Palmer Kelley

Charolette Evonne Palmer Kelley, 73, of Verbena, Alabama, passed away January 17, 2024, at her residence.

She was born September 29, 1950, in Birmingham, Alabama, daughter of the late Horton Palmer and the late Clara Belle Cryer Palmer.

Charolette graduated from Fairfield High School, Troy University, and the University of West Alabama receiving her BS, Masters, and Sixth Year AA Degrees. She was a Teacher, Psychomotrist, and a Guidance Counselor for 37 years in public education, the majority of these years were in Chilton County. She was a member of the Verbena Methodist Church, serving multiple positions. She was also a dedicated collector of family/historical memorabilia. She had a deep love for family, especially her granddaughters. Her love for Motown was evident when she named her cats Etta James, Eartha, and BB.

Surviving are her Granddaughters, Ava Kate Kelley, Mollie Kelley; Sister, Glenda Ryckewaert; Brother, Jim (Elizabeth) Palmer; Daughter-in-law, Kerri Watson; Bonus Family, Keneshia Henderson and Lacrez Wright; Sister-in-law, Lynn (Don) Hodges; Sister-in-law, Kay (Franklin) Golson.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Randall Bennett Kelley; Son, Ashley Palmer Kelley;  Father, Horton Palmer; Mother, Clara Belle Palmer; Sister, Margaret Todarello; Brothers, Hobert Palmer, Ray Palmer.

A Celebration of Life will be held Monday, January 22, 2024, at 2:00 p.m.. at Verbena Methodist Church with Rev. Jody Hill and Rev. Dr. Hunter Pugh officiating.

Family request that memorials be made to the Verbena Methodist Church, 8060 County Road 59, Verbena, AL 36091.
