Clara I. McElroy Smith, 88, of Montevallo died Monday, July 23, 2012 at Chandler Health & Rehab, Alabaster. She was born on Sunday, July 6, 1924 in Bibb Co., AL, Daughter of the late Robert McElroy and the late Annie Leach McElroy. She was a Factory Worker. Surviving are her 4 Sons, Willie Smith of Jemison, AL, Jerry Curtis (Carolyn) Smith of Jemison, AL, Billy Joe (Glenda) Smith of Jemison, AL, Larry (Tammy) Smith of Calera, AL; Daughter, Betty Whatley of Montevallo, AL; 13 Grandchildren, 26 Great-Grandchildren, 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her Husband, Lloyd Smith, Son, Peewee Smith and Parents, Robert & Annie McElroy. Friends will be received from 5-8, Wednesday, July 25, 2012 @ Martin Funeral Home Chapel. Services will be held Thursday, July 26, 2012, at 10:00 A.M. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Earl Short officiating.
