He was born on Friday, July 8, 1921 in Chilton Co., Alabama, Son of the late Leland Powell and the late Nettie Davenport Powell. He was an Assembly Worker. Surviving are his Wife, Sara Powell of Prattville, AL; 4 Sons, Donnie (Connie) Powell of Prattville, AL, Larry (Kathy) Powell of Prattville, AL, Randy (Sue) Powell of Prattville, AL, David Powell of Prattville, AL; 2 Daughters, Gail (Steve) Coe of Prattville, AL, Debbie (Bill) Simon of Prattville, AL; 15 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren; Brother, Gerald Powell of Birmingham, AL. Friends will be received from 5-8, Monday, May 18, 2009 @ Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Tuesday, May 19, 2009, at 2:00PM. at Big Springs Baptist Church with Rev. Harold and Rev. Doug Powell officiating. Interment will follow in Big Springs Baptist Cemetery, Billingsley, AL Martin Funeral Home directing.
