Cynthia Lynn Moates Powell, 61, of Clanton, Alabama, passed away on April 21, 2026, at Baptist South Health in Montgomery, Alabama.

She was born on March 7, 1965, in Georgia, the daughter of the late Wayne Moates and the late Sue Jones.

Cindy was a devoted “Nonna” to her grandchildren and the heart of her family. She was a guiding force of love, strength, and unconditional support. She had a deep love for the beach and found great joy in cooking for those she loved. Cindy was also the proud owner of Lil Suzy Q’s in Clanton, Alabama.

She is survived by her loving husband of 38 years, Keith Powell; her sons, Taylor Powell and Tanner (Kelsey) Powell; her daughter, Jordan (Ryan Cofer) Powell; her cherished grandchildren, Lydia, Grant, Graylan, Cora, and Crue; and her brother, Dewayne Moates.

She was preceded in death by her father, Wayne Moates, and her mother, Sue Jones.
