David L. Gentry

David Lamar Gentry, 73, of Clanton died Wednesday, January 4, 2017 at UAB, Birmingham. He was born on Monday, April 19, 1943 in Alabama, Son of the late Charlie W. Gentry and the late Opal Matthews Tabaka. He was an Alabama Power Electrical Engineer. Surviving are his Wife, Elouise K. Gentry of Clanton, AL; Daughter, Joy Gentry Bennett of Millbrook, AL; Son-in-Law, Lloyd Bennett of Millbrook, AL; Grandsons, Taylor Mathews of South Korea, Connor Mathews of Millbrook, AL; Granddaughter, Audrey Gentry of Greenville, AL. He was preceded in death by his Son, Robert Alan Gentry; Father, Charlie Gentry; Mother, Opal Matthews Tabaka. Friends will be received from 12-2 p.m., Sunday, January 8, 2017 at Victory Chapel Church. Services will be held Sunday, January 8, 2017, at 2:00 p.m. at Victory Chapel Church with Rev. Glen Vaughn and Rev. Lane Simmons, Rev. Brent Collins, Rev. Randy Reid, and Rev. Donnie Messer officiating. Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton. Martin Funeral Home directing.
