Delene Short Carroll

Delene Short Carroll, 93, of Clanton, Alabama passed away December 31, 2023.

She was born March 11, 1930, in Alabama, daughter of the late Johnny Short and the late Leila Short Nelson.

She enjoyed sewing, quilting and keeping her grandkids. She had a profound love for her Savior, church and her family. She devoted her life to Christ at a young age and enjoyed reading her Bible. She not only faithfully loved and served Jesus Christ, but was a faithful and devoted wife to her late husband. She was loved by her family, church, community, and most of all her Lord.

Surviving are her Daughters, Sharron (John) Diorio of Birmingham,AL, Brenda (Dan) Lawrence of Demopolis,AL; Sons, Terry (Cathy) Carroll of Clanton, AL,  Tommy (Cindy) Carroll of Gulf Shores, AL; 10 Grandchildren; 19 Great-Grandchildren; 2 Great Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Melton (Linda)  Short; Step-Brother, Wayne (Jean) Nelson, and a host of nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Husband, Erskin Carroll; Father, Johnny William Short; Mother, Leila Weldon Short Nelson.

Friends will be received Tuesday, January 2, 2024, from 1:00 pm to 2:00 pm at Liberty Hill Baptist Church.

Services will be held Tuesday, January 2, 2024, at 2:00 pm. at Liberty Hill Baptist Church with Rev. Kent Dodson, Rev. Melton Short officiating.

Interment will follow in Liberty Hill Baptist Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
