She was born on Saturday, May 16, 1931 in Winfield, KS, Daughter of the late John William Smith and the late Lula Garoute Smith. She was a Nurse. Surviving are her Daughters, Sherryl (Daniel) Johnson of MN, Sheila Smith of Jemison, AL, Sandra Smith of Jemison, AL; Sons, William Smith of Jemison, AL, Daniel Smith (Sandy Edgley) of Virginia Beach, VA, Douglas Smith, Jr. of Jemison, AL; 6 Grandchildren, 1 Great-Grandchild; Brother-in-Law, Edwin Thurman of GA; Sister, Lorita Thurman of TN. She was preceded in death by her Parents, John William & Lula Smith. Friends will be received from 5-7, Thursday, January 23, 2014 at Martin Funeral Home. Services will be held Friday, January 24, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Robert Sandifer officiating. Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, AL.
