Djuana Lynn Burns, 61, of Verbena, Alabama passed away July 10, 2026, at her residence in Verbena, AL.

She was born December 15, 1964, in Alabama, daughter of Curtis Sims and Sharon Beutler.

She was a Doctorate of Nursing Practice and Professor of Troy University School of Nursing .

Surviving are her Husband, Donnie Burns; Daughters, Brittney (Jon) Mount, Brianna Burns; Mother, Sharon Beutler; Father, Curtis (Sandye) Sims; Grandsons, Colter Mount, Fielder Mount; Brother, James (Kelly) Sims.

She was preceded in death by her Step-Father, John Beutler; Mother-in-law, Reecie Burns.

Friends will be received Monday, July 13, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at White Pond Baptist Church.

Services will be held Monday, July 13, 2026, at 11:00 am. at White Pond Baptist Church with Rev. Jimmy Simpler, Derek Deavers, Ricky King officiating.

Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to White Pond Baptist Church.
