He was born on Wednesday, October 17, 1934 in Crenshaw Co., AL , Son of the late Carl Byrd and the late Edna Jeffcoat Byrd. He was a salesman. Surviving are his Wife, Shirley Byrd of Verbena, AL; Sons, Tim (Cris) Byrd of Alabaster, AL, Terry (Jennifer) Byrd of Verbena, AL, Tony (Lisa) Byrd of Jemison, AL, Alan Byrd of Talladega, AL; Daughters, Tera (Matt) Easterling of Clanton, AL, Cyndi Byrd of Montgomery, AL; 14 Grandchildren, 12 Great-Grandchildren; Brother, Douglas Byrd; Sisters, Betty Stephens, Joan (James) Davis. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Carl and Edna Byrd; Daughter, Teresa Byrd; Sister, Bonnie Horn. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m., Thursday, November 30, 2017 at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church. Services will be held Friday, December 1, 2017, at 11:00 a.m. at Chestnut Creek Baptist Church with Rev. Terry Smith officiating. Interment will follow in Chestnut Creek Baptist Cemetery, Verbena, AL. Martin Funeral Home directing.
