Donald Ray Cleckler, 80, of Clanton, Alabama passed away peacefully from this life into his eternal home in heaven on July 26, 2024, at his residence in Clanton, Alabama, after an extended illness.
He was born on July 30, 1943, in Chilton County, Alabama, to the late Rufus and Ollie Mae Cleckler
Donald understood his responsibility as the provider for his family, and took pride in his career of 39 years at International Paper in Prattville, Alabama. He was Crew Leader in the Power House, and occasional supervisor.
After retirement, he enjoyed maintaining his home place, land, and farm equipment. He was of the Christian faith and was a long-time member of Zion Ridge Church of God in Clanton, Alabama. He loved his family.
Surviving are his Wife of 60 years, Lillie Ruth Smith Cleckler; Daughters, Sherry (William) Ray and Belinda Martinez; Granddaughters, Savannah Cleckler and Shelby Cleckler; Grandsons, Caleb Martinez and Dylan Martinez; Great-Grandchildren, Brycen Coggins, Baylen Cleckler, Brody Cleckler and Bradley Cleckler; Step-Granddaughters, Shelley (Scott) Mims and Whitney (Alex) Joy; Step-Grandchildren, John Paul Mims, Patton Joy and Gaines Joy; Brother, Harold (Kay) Cleckler; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his Father, Rufus Cleckler; Mother, Ollie Mae Cleckler; Son, Brian Keith Cleckler; Granddaughter, Candace Russell; Brothers, Duel Cleckler and Bobby Ray Cleckler (Infant).
The family is grateful for the excellent care and assistance given to Donald and the family in his final days by Kay Cleckler, his sister-in-law and Gentiva Hospice. They provided an invaluable service to the family.
Friends will be received Saturday, August 3, 2024, from 1:00 p.m to 2:00 p.m at Zion Ridge Church of God.
Service will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024, at 2:00 p.m. at Zion Ridge Church of God with Rev. Mike Cleckler and Rev. Jason Acreman officiating.
Graveside Service and Interment will follow in Mt. Pisgah Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.
