Donald Franklin Parker, 83, of Jemison died Thursday, September 15, 2011 at Shelby Baptist Medical Center, Alabaster. He was born on Tuesday, July 31, 1928 in Elmore Co., AL, Son of the late Dawson Floyd Parker and the late Mary Lee Neighbors Parker. He was a Bender at the Steel Mill. He was a member of Jemison First Baptist where he served as deacon and door greeter. Surviving are his Wife, Dorothy Parker of Jemison, AL; 2 Sons, Donald L. (Becky) Parker of Bay Minette, AL, Ralph (Rachel) Parker of Clanton, AL; Daughter, Cathy (Warren) Sweeny of Alabaster, AL; 6 Grandchildren, Allen Parker, Mike Parker, Renee May, Brandon Parker, Bradley Parker, Lacritia Futral; 6 Great-Grandchildren, Beth Parker, Hannah Parker, Alyssa Parker, Oakley May, Zion Futral, Austin Parker; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren, Raegan Forbus, Nathaniel Forbus; 2 Sisters, Lucy Funderburk, Millie Parker; Brother, Jack, Roy, Wayne & Thurman Parker. He was preceded in death by his Parents, Dawson Floyd & Mary Lee Parker; Sister, Viola Osburn. Friends will be received from 12-2, Saturday, September 17, 2011 @ Jemison First Baptist Church. Services will be held Saturday, September 17, 2011, at 2:00 P.M. at Jemison First Baptist Church with Rev. Chuck Bass, Rev. Mitch Underwood and Rev. Rex Kent officiating.
