Donna Marie Smith

Donna Marie Smith, 68, of Thorsby, Alabama passed away April 23, 2025, in Thorsby, AL.

She was born February 4, 1957, in Chilton Co., Alabama, daughter of the late Floyd Porter and the late Bernice Porter Burnette.

She dedicated 35 years to working at Vestevia Hills Elementary School. Donna showed her love to others through her gift of preparing delicious meals and desserts. She loved her family and friends with all of her heart and soul. She especially enjoyed spending time with her Great-Grandchildren, Jase and Jessa. Donna loved fiercely, and will be deeply missed.

Surviving are her Husband, Jimmy L. Smith; Son, Jason (Misty) Smith; Grandson, Gunner (Kandis) Smith; Great-Grandson, Jase Smith; Great-Granddaughter, Jessa Smith; Sisters, Faye (Elton) Horton, Charlotte Bryant, Jeanette (Neil) Williams; Diane Cotten, who was like a sister; and a host of  beloved nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Floyd Porter; Mother, Bernice Porter Burnette.

Friends will be received Saturday, April 26, 2025, from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist Church.

Services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Pates Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Greg Jones officiating.

Interment will follow in Pates Chapel Baptist Cemetery, Jemison, Alabama.
