Donnie Ray Davis

Donnie Ray Davis, 67 years old, from Verbena, AL passed away in his home on Monday, October 16th.

He will be remembered as a loving father, a devoted church member and a generous giver. His love for the Lord was his greatest passion and the driving force in his life.

Colonel Donnie Davis had a long and accomplished 37-year career in the service of his country.  He distinguished himself in the performance of outstanding service to the United States as Director of Staff, Air Headquarters, Alabama Air National Guard and Human Resource Officer for the State of Alabama Air and Army National Guard until he retired in November of 2012.

He will be deeply missed by family and members of his community.

Surviving are his Mother, Annie Pearl Davis; Daughter, Kelley Nicole (Jason) Sikes; Son, Donavon Oneal Davis; Brother, Mark (Christine) Davis; Grandsons, Ethan Sikes, Brodie Sikes; Nieces, Christy, Valarie, Jessalyn; Nephew, Hunter.

He was preceded in death by his Father, Grady Oneal Davis; Brother, Ricky Davis.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, October 19th from 5-7 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home in Clanton, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at Temple Assembly of God in Clanton, Alabama on Friday, October 20th at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will follow in Temple Assembly of God Cemetery, Clanton, Alabama.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to The Advocate Christian Counseling Center, Inc. located at 111 7th Street South in Clanton, Alabama, where Donnie was a founding director.
