Doris Kapp Knueppel

Doris Kapp Knueppel, 85, of Jemison, Alabama peacefully passed into the arms of her Lord at home surrounded by family on January 16, 2022.

She was born February 1, 1936 in Nigeria to Missionary parents. She lived a full life and enjoyed spending time with family and friends; sharing stories of her travels and life experiences. She had many hobbies including gardening, reading, canning, sewing and crocheting. She was a lover of life, seeker of knowledge and collector of many things. She had a vibrant personality and quick wit. Her willingness to listen without judgment is what made her so approachable to many, especially her grandchildren. She retired from bookkeeping at Shelby Concrete after 26 years at the age of 80. She was a strong survivor of a woman who was greatly blessed, highly favored, imperfect but forgiven child of God.

Surviving are her Sons, Joseph Fantasia, Pete (Stephanie) Fantasia, Steve (Mindy) Fantasia; Daughters, Catherine Fantasia-House, Carolyn (Chris) Locke; Former Spouse, John Knueppel; Granddaughters, Haley (Grady) Ellison, Holly (Kameron) Ford, Angel Fantasia, Emilee House, Jenna House, Adrianne Fantasia; Grandsons, Connor Fantasia, Nick Fantasia; Great-Grandson, Wyatt Ford; Great-Granddaughter, Annistasia Ellison; Sister, Pauline (Daniel) Sutton; Brother, Norman (Sue) Kapp; A great host of nieces, nephews, family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her Father, Newton Kapp; Mother, Doris Blackwell-Kapp; Sister, Carolyn Mardirosian.

Friends will be received Saturday, January 22, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel.

Services will be held Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bert Tippett officiating.

Interment will follow in Midway Memorial Gardens, Jemison, Alabama.
