Dorothy Ann (Porter) Plier Dorothy Ann Plier, age 82, passed away peacefully at her home in Jemison, Alabama, on September 2, 2026. She was born in Chilton County on July 4, 1944, the youngest daughter of William Edgar and Lillie Mae Porter. She was lovingly known as “Mawmaw” to all her family. She made sure everyone was always taken care of and prepared thousands of delicious meals over the years to keep everyone well fed. Her love for her family was evident in the way she cared for them and made sure no one ever left her home hungry. She is survived by her husband of 65 years, Bennie Athan Plier; two daughters, Teresa (Wesley) Ellison and Vickie (Bobby) Bice; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; three sisters; one brother; and a host of nephews and nieces. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Edgar and Lillie Mae (Bice) Porter, two brothers, and several nephews and nieces. Friends will be received Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Martin Funeral Home Chapel in Clanton, Alabama. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, September 4, 2026, at Martin Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Rick Groover officiating. Interment will follow at Midway Memorial Gardens in Jemison, Alabama.
