Dr.Clark Gilbert Hutchinson, 84, went home to Jesus, on Easter morning, Sunday, April 5, 2026.
Clark was born on March 10, 1942, in Hamburg, Iowa to Dr. J. Gilbert Hutchinson and Arlene
Goll Hutchinson. Arlene passed away shortly after childbirth. When Clark was five, his father
remarried, Frances Ewton Hutchinson. and the family relocated to Clanton, Alabama,where he
was raised and formed the strong values and character that would guide him throughout his life.
He carried with him a deep sense of faith, compassion, and dedication to others.
He pursued higher education at Baylor University and later Southwestern Theological Seminary.
He received his doctorate degree from Luther Rice Seminary. Clark pastored churches in Troy,
Alabama, Marietta, Georgia and Cartersville Georgia. He served the Lord for over fifty years and
led countless people to Christ.
Clark’s life was marked by his devotion to his faith, his love for his family, and his steady
presence as a source of wisdom and encouragement to those around him.
Clark was devoted to his beloved bride, Josephine Moore Hutchinson, with whom he shared 57
years of marriage. Together, they built a life centered on faith, family, and enduring love.
He is survived by his children: Joseph Hutchinson (Christin), Tom Hutchinson (Andrea), and
Corye Harrison (Ben). He was a proud and loving grandfather to Adriene, Adair, and Josie;
Clarke and Sutton; and step-grandchildren Sean (Lindsey), Sydney, Ben, and Ainsley. His family
was his greatest joy, and he cherished every moment spent with them.
Those who knew Clark will remember his kind heart, thoughtful nature, unwavering integrity,
and bold vision for growing the Kingdom.
Clark’s passing on Easter morning—a day symbolizing hope, renewal, and resurrection—offers
a meaningful reflection of the faith that sustained him throughout his life. He will be deeply
missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, April 14, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. at Martin Memorial
Cemetery in Clanton, Alabama, with Rev. Richard Sims officiating.
Interment will follow in Martin Memorial Cemetery. Martin Funeral Home directing.
