Dwight Studdard

January 7, 1940 — March 7, 2012

Dwight Davis STUDDARD was born Jan. 7, 1940 to Hazel and B.N. Studdard in Clanton, Alabama. His mechanical engineering career progressed at the University of Alabama from the "Slide Rule Study" to the present "Cloud Computing". He helped Pratt Whitney develope high performance jet engines. He then worked with Aramco by installing and maintaining massive pumps used in oil production in Saudi Arabia. His excellent performance records allowed him to pick and choose jobs all over the world with large companies such as General Electric, BASF and Westinghouse. One of his most exciting experiences was a sailing adventure in the South China Sea with several of his fellow engineers. He then retired to Texas before returning to Alabama to be close to his family. Dwight is survived by his sons, John (Charmaine) Studdard and Scott Studdard; 3 Grandchildren; Sister, Melba (Oakley) Melton and brother, Dr. Jerry (Jo Emma) Studdard and beloved nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Saturday, March 10, 2012 at 11:00 am at Martin Memorial Cemetery, Clanton, AL.
